About the RTC-Chabad

The Richmond Torah Center-Chabad was founded by Rabbi Ahron Hecht as a warm, comfortable place where Jews of all backgrounds could study, pray or just discover the joys of being Jewish.  Over the years, more and more people have experienced the unique wisdom of the Torah through the many lectures our center offers.

We hope that our center will soon become your home as well.  Join us for services during the week or on Shabbat.  Learn about our remarkable heritage at one of our many classes.  Discover the delights of a Chassidic simcha or farbrengen.  Browse around our library and book store.  Or just come and chat with Rabbi Hecht about what it means to be a Jew.

No matter what your current level of knowledge or observance, we hope that The Richmond Torah Center-Chabad will bring new joy and fulfillment to your life.

ABOUT RABBI HECHT
American-born Rabbi Ahron Hecht attended Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva in Kfar Chabad, Israel, where he was ordained by the former Chief Rabbi, Ovadia Yosef.  He continued post-graduate studies at the Yeshiva Kolel in Melbourne, Australia, where he also served as a lecturer at Monash University and  taught extensively throughout Australia and New Zealand.
He, his wife Sara, and their twelve children currently live in the Richmond district of San Francisco.  Their home is always open on Shabbat or at any time someone needs a place to shmooze.
"A rabbi should serve as a teacher and friend, not just an orator," Rabbi Hecht has said.  His ability to blend the mystical and logical makes his teaching particularly appealing to modern Jew.
